Personal Information We Collect About You


We use your data to make PayPeg’s products and services work better for you and for others.

We collect, use, process, store, or transfer personal information such as:

Identity Data: Information such as, your full name(s), your government-issued identity number, bank verification number (BVN) and your date of birth. This data is to enable us to verify your identity in order to offer our services to you;
Contact Data: This is data that is needed to reach out to you, such as your contact address, email address, telephone number, details of the device you use and billing details;
Identification documents :(such as your passport or any Government-issued identity card), a photograph (if applicable) and any other registration information you may provide to prove you are eligible to use our services;
Log/Technical information: When you access our third party services, their servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website, links you have clicked on, length of visit on certain pages, unique device identifier, log-in information, location and other device details.
Financial Data: Information, such as personal account number, the merchant’s name and location, the date and the total amount of transaction, and other information provided by financial institutions or merchants when we act on their behalf;
Transactional Data: These are information relating to a payment when you as a merchant (using one or more of our payment processing services) or as a customer, are using our products or services;
Marketing and Communications Data: This includes both a record of your decision to subscribe or to withdraw from receiving marketing materials from us or from our third parties.

We may also collect, store, use and transfer non-personal information or anonymized data such as statistical or demographic data.
As a principle, we do not collect any Special Categories of Personal Information. If we do collect Special Categories of Personal Information, we will ensure compliance with applicable law.

How We Use Your Information


We use your data to help you log in to your account, verify your identity, secure your data, fight fraud, enforce our agreements, and market and tailor our products to you.

We collect, use and share (or have collected, used or shared during at least the 12-month period preceding the effective date of this Privacy Notice), information about you for the following reasons:

Providing, Improving, and Developing our Services: Processing or recording payment transactions or money transfers.
Communicating with You About our Services: Sending you information we think you may find useful or which you have requested from us about our products and services.

For example, with other people with whom you interact when you use our services; within our api company like flutterwave, who may offer services that we think could be useful to you; with service providers who help us run our services; or if we need to share your information to comply with the law.

With Other Users of our Services: With other users of our Services. For example, we may share information with the person(s) with whom you transact when you make or accept a payment or money transfer using our Services. This helps them know they’re getting money from you (or that you requested a payment from them). We may also make certain information available to other PayPeg customers to help them know they’re making a payment to the right person, such as when you joined PayPeg and whether you appear in their contacts, and the number of people in their contacts who have also transacted with you. If you choose, we may also allow you to share additional information about you and your use of our Services with other PayPeg customers.
With our Affiliates and Group Companies: With our group companies and corporate affiliates, for the reasons outlined above. For example, we may share your information internally to provide you with enhanced services from PayPeg and other company products you use, to understand how you engage with company products to help make our Services better for you and for everyone, and to help us build Services tailored to your preferences.
With our Service Providers: With service providers who help us provide, maintain, and improve our Services (e.g., vendors who help us with fraud prevention, identity verification, and fee collection services), as well as financial institutions, payment networks, payment card associations, credit bureaus, carrying brokers, and other entities in connection with your payment, money transfer process, investing activity, or otherwise to help us provide the Services;

Aggregated and Anonymized Information: We also may share (within our group of companies or affiliates, or with service providers or other third parties) aggregated and/or anonymized information that does not specifically identify you or any individual user of our Services.

Log Data

We want to inform you that whenever you use our Service, in a case of an error in the app we collect data and information (through third party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.

Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device's internal memory. This Service does not use these “cookies” explicitly. However, the app may use third party code and libraries that use “cookies” to collect information and improve their services. These Services do not address anyone under the age of 18. We do not collect personally identifiable information from children under 18 knowingly or directly. Marketing

We may process your Personal Information in order to contact you or send you marketing content and communication about our products, services or surveys. You may exercise your right to object to such contact from us or opt out from the marketing content. Our business is global with affiliates and service providers located around the world. As such, Personal Information may be stored and processed in any country where we have operations.
